Rick
Levine is an active voice in the astrology community
whose special gift is to bridge the gap between astrology and
spirituality, science and religion and the head and the heart.
His interest in professionalism has put him at the forefront of the astrology
community. In 1982, he founded The Center for Astrological Research and Education
in Minneapolis, MN. Rick was a Founding Trustee of the Kepler College for Astrological
Arts and Sciences, a 4-year institution in Seattle that is state licensed to
issues degrees in Astrological Studies.
Rick has maintained a high profile of service to the astrology community. He
served two terms on the Steering Committee for the Association for Astrological
Networking (AFAN). He is a two-term Past-President of the Washington State
Astrology Association (WSAA). He is an active member of the Organization for
Professional Astrologers and has worked with them developing a retreat format
for professional peer group supervision. He is also a member of the National
Conference on Geocosmic Research (NCGR) and the International Society for Astrology
Research (ISAR).
Rick is a frequent lecturer at astrology conferences, where he often teaches
about the important relationships between science, astrology and our spiritual
traditions. He has lectured throughout the United States and in England. In
addition to his astrology lectures, he has also been teaching other astrologers
for many years how to make use of technology, including computers and the Internet.
Rick is the author of Tarot.com's daily horoscopes, which are also read on
many other websites including AOL, Beliefnet, Women's Entertainment TV and
many others. He is the author of Quantum Astrology: Essays on the Physics of
Metaphysics, a book that delves into the mysteries of time and space from the
perspective of science, religion and astrology. He is also the author of The
Gift of the Magi: Christmas for the New Millennium, in which he explores the
amazing story behind the Star of Bethlehem and the astrologer/priests who recognized
this wondrous star. The book includes Rick's cosmically relevant and spiritually
based Christmas poems.
Rick was a contributor to The Professional Practice of Astrology, a guide for
astrologers just going into the profession. Aside from other published poetry
(A Slice of Light and other poems), Rick has written many magazine articles
for such publications as Fate magazine, The Mountain Astrologer, and Aspect
Journal, and his articles have been translated into many other languages including
Norwegian and Polish. Rick has made many media appearances over the years on
radio and TV, and now co-hosts The Star Talkers, a weekly radio show with Internet
simulcast, with Jeff Jawer.
Rick has been a professional Astrologer since 1976 in Minneapolis, Los Angeles
and Seattle. He has provided astrological consulting services for individuals,
corporations and non-profit organizations. He continues his consulting practice
from Seattle, Washington, where he has lived for 15 years. He was the co-founder
of StarIQ.com and still maintains an active role in the production of the web
site. Rick loves music, poetry, mathematics and a good novel.
