The Colours of India

A create-your-own 7, 14, or 21-day Cultural Experience

with
Jean Fogelberg and Evelyn Roberts

January 6 - 27, 2019

Goa

January 6 - 12, 2019

Rajasthan

January 13 - 27, 2019

Participants  are limited to 12 in Goa and 20 in Rajasthan, so please book early.

Join photographer and instructor Jean Fogelberg and astrologer and world traveler Evelyn Roberts for an unfolding  journey from the idyllic, palm-fringed coast of Goa, with its golden beaches and warm Arabian Sea, to the deserts of history-steeped Rajasthan, one of the most colorful and exotic parts of India.

This once-in-a-lifetime trip will be part photographic journey and part pilgrimage as Jean and Evelyn travel into the heart of some of the most fascinating areas of India. For interested participants, the Goa workshop will include morning classes for beginner to intermediate photographers in PhotoshopCC® and Jean will provide ongoing consultations throughout both workshops.

This journey will be a photographer's dream come true, but you don't have to be a photographer to attend. It is also open to those who just want to soak it all in.

After three of these workshops we have discovered that the culinary interests of our groups are almost as strong as their creative interests, and that's fine with us because we are total foodies! We put as much time into researching restaurants as anything else. Evelyn is a vegetarian and Jean eats poultry and fish, but both of us love fresh, local dishes. Every workshop to date has found us ending each day swearing we won't be able to top the last wonderful restaurant we ate at. We don't expect this one to be any different and we are happily researching all gastronomical possibilities.

Goa and Rajasthan are the perfect locations for our journey, with their rich history, diverse culture and beautiful landscapes. We want this workshop to be an immersive experience for you, into the heart of India. This will be Heaven and Earth's 6th workshop in India, and we have spent those years finding the best locations, safest drivers, best guides, and fairest places to shop.

We normally create 14-day workshops in one or two locations that all participants attend. This time we're doing something a little different. You will be able to choose to attend the workshop in Goa or the workshop in Rajasthan, or both workshops. Check out destinations and dates and see what intrigues you.

Goa

The 1st part of the journey will be a relaxing time in Southern Goa at Palolem Beach. We'll be staying just up the hill from the beach, at Bhakti Kutir, a charming, rustic home away from home with the friendliest staff you could ever hope to meet. Set amidst nature's beauty, Bhakti Kutir boasts simple comforts, fresh local food, and an easy walk to two beautiful beaches and village shopping. The fish is fresh from the sea; the sand is smooth and the water is warm; and the food and shopping are shockingly affordable.

For those requiring more luxury and less communing with nature, there is an Inter-Continental Hotel within a 10-minute drive of Bhakti Kutir. If this is you, we offer a tuition-only package, whereby you can make your own arrangements with the hotel and pay Heaven and Earth's tuition separately for classes, meals, transport, and excursions with the other members of the group.

If you wish to stay at the Inter-Continental you must book by August 2018 as it is always completely full during the dates we will be there.

Rajasthan

Jaisalmer

Rajasthan is India's largest, most colorful and diverse state. For this leg of our journey we will fly to Delhi and board a night sleeper train to Jaisalmer. From Jaisalmer we will slowly wend our way back to Delhi by road, exploring Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Pushkar the shopping mecca, Jaipur, and the Taj Mahal. We will travel in a comfortable AC vehicle exclusively for our group, with our own driver and professional local guides, and all accommodations will be 4-star and very comfortable.

We're going to pass right through Delhi, but anyone who wishes to see more of the city can arrange for a longer private tour at the end of our time together. We will be happy to help by arranging airport pick-up and accommodations for those arriving in India for just this leg of the trip.

For the Rajasthan leg of this journey, you might want to buy The Lonely Planet Guide to Rajasthan, Delhi & Agra. We are going to too many places to list, so this will give you a clearer idea of what we will be seeing.
