The Colours of India

Dates: January 6 - 12, 2018

Everyone is required to arrive on Sunday, January 6th, so there will be time for acclimating and recovering from jet-lag.

Daily Schedule in Goa

  • 7:30 am - 8:30 am - Buffet Breakfast

  • 9:00 am - 11:00 am - Workshop Session

  • 11:00 am - 11:30 am - Coffee, Chai, and Samosa Break

  • 11:30 am - 1:00 pm - Workshop Session

  • 1:00 pm - Lunch Buffet.

We stay somewhat flexible around scheduling, much will depend on the group dynamic, while at the same time respecting individual needs.

Afternoons will primarily be free after lunch  for shooting, organised group activities, Ayurvedic treatments, yoga classes, massages, shopping, or whatever individuals choose to do. And on some days we will adjust the hours to fit the activity.

Evenings are free. Often our groups choose to eat together but there is never any obligation. Just know that we will have scouted out the best restaurants ahead of time; well-fed adventurers are happy adventurers!

Our primary objective on this journey to India will be to experience this amazing and exotic land, her ancient culture and people. Nothing is mandatory, but we do ask that you arrive on time for workshops, excursions or meals that you do plan to attend.

Photography / Introduction to PhotoshopCC®

For beginner to intermediate photographers interested in taking the morning photography and Photoshop CC® classes with Jean, you will need:

  • A laptop.

  • A camera (your favorite digital camera, just so you can open your photos on your laptop.)

  • Photoshop CC® installed on your laptop.

If you don't have Adobe Photoshop CC you can buy it for $9.99 a month - a great deal!

As the workshop draws closer, Jean will send further instructions and answer questions.

Daily Yoga Classes and Ayurvedic treatments are available at Bhakti Kutir.

If you plan on arriving in Goa a few days early please let us know as soon as possible as the hotel is usually fully booked.

Sunday, January 6th

Arrival and settling in. No breakfast or lunch included today. We will have an evening meeting/orientation if everyone has arrived at a reasonable time. We can then plan a group dinner together, and those who arrived later may choose to make an early night of it.

Chascaa - lovely spot set up on the rocks, perfect for watching the sunset over the Arabian Sea. A favourite of Heaven & Earth.

Monday, January 7th

Breakfast, class, lunch.

Sea Touch - Another of our favourites, and the gracious owner, Suresh, always sets a table up right on the beach for us.

Tuesday, January 8th

Breakfast, class, snack.

Galgibaga Beach Boat Trip and buffet picnic at Surya's Beach Cafe.

We may be too full from our long, late lunch tonight to want a big dinner, but Bhakti Kutir Restaurant has some great lighter meals.

Wednesday, January 9th

Early breakfast buffet at Bhakti Kutir.

Early morning trip to North Goa. We will take an excursion to the legendary Anjuna Flea Market, (about an hour and a half drive), then arrive back late that evening.

It is a full day, but a shopper's paradise, with clothing, fabric, shawls, jewelry,

leather goods, purses, shoes, crystals, carvings and rugs.

Leave some room in your suitcase!

You will pay for your own lunch and dinner today.

Goa's Ark - A gem of a restaurant very close to the market with fabulous food.

Thursday, January 10th

Breakfast, class, lunch.

Afternoon trip to the lagoon at the far end of Palolem Beach to shoot the many different kinds of birds to be found there. We have a wonderful boatman (Lucky is his name!), who knows where the shy Kingfishers can be found and how to bring the sea eagles and other raptors close to the boat for photographs.

Zest is a wonderful vegan restaurant in Palolem, even rabid carnivores will find it delicious! It is in the heart of the village shopping area, so we will stroll over here after the Lagoon trip and follow dinner with some retail therapy. The shops stay open late!

Friday, January 11th

Breakfast, class, lunch.

La La Land has a lovely outdoor dining area within a 5-minute walk from the hotel.

Saturday, January 12th

Completely free day for shopping, massages, Ayurvedic treatments, beach-time and relaxing. Only breakfast will be served at Bhakti Kutir today. We will have a group dinner on the beach to say goodbye to those who are not coming onto Delhi with us.

We will eat at one of the lovely beach restaurants right on Palolem Beach.

Sunday, January 13th
Package #1 ends, participants leave for home or parts unknown.

Package #2 begins, new participants fly to Delhi.

Package #3 continues, with us boarding a plane for Delhi.
